Brookfield has taken pole position in the June contracts league after securing a £200m job for Chinese property developer ABP at the Royal Docks in East London.

The developer aims to deliver the £200m first phase of the project with Brookfield Multiplex working alongside Citic Construction, the contracting unit of China’s state-owned Citic Group Corporation.

Morgan Sindall took second place with a work haul worth £147m, including the London Borough of Lambeth town hall redevelopment.

Gloucester-based Barnwood Construction jumped to eighth place after securing one of its biggest ever contracts worth an estimated £55m to redevelop the fire-damaged Baker’s Quay in its home city.

According to information specialist Glenigan, Kier remains the most successful contractor judged by the value of work won over the last 12 months, chased by Galliford Try and Bouygues.

Judged on civil engineering wins alone Balfour Beatty nudged Costain out of the top slot.
