New details have been announced for Western Sydney Stadium. One of the most exciting features is an area which allows approximately 150 fans to peer directly into the players’ warm up section.
The area, preliminarily named the “Field Club”, will be available to winning guests, or those who are willing to spend extra to go premium. The area also boasts pitch-side seating.
This 30,000 seat venue is projected to cost $360 million and its doors are set to open in 2019.
Besides sports games, the stadium can also accommodate large scale music events. As such, it will be replacing the existing Parramatta Stadium.
“Western Sydney Stadium is a win for sports fans, revolutionising the spectator experience and injecting millions of dollars into the local economy, and creating 2,000 jobs,” says Berejiklian.
“This stadium will be a major boost for Sydney’s infrastructure and will be another venue that we can use to attract major events to NSW.
“This enormous investment is already generating flow-on benefits with $60 million in contracts awarded to Western Sydney businesses — with plenty more to come.”
Western Sydney Stadium is among the first of three refurbrishment projects issued by the government.. $1.6 billion is set aside for the new venue at Parramatta and for the ANZ and Allianz stadiums.
“Western Sydney Stadium is first cab off the rank in the Government’s stadia program. A new era of world-class sporting and entertainment facilities is just around the corner,” Sports Minister Stuart Ayres states.
“Western Sydney Stadium is designed to ensure fans are closer to the action than any stadium in the country. It will offer 3,000 premium seats and a 360-degree open concourse with views of the playing field — meaning fans won’t miss any of the action,” he adds.
