London’s Hounslow Borough Council has awarded Northern Irish contractor Farrans its second major school project in the area.

The contractor secured the Marjory Kinnon special education needs primary and secondary school project with a bid of £29.3m.

Just two weeks ago the same council also awarded Farrans the Gresham Road school, designed by Pick Everard, with a £32.6m bid. One of the key challenges in the design was mitigating external noise with the site so close to Heathrow.

The new Marjory Kinnon school will be built on an existing sports field site in Feltham bordered one side by the Duke of Northumberland River and in close proximity to Heathrow Airport.
