The National Centre for Diversity is pleased to announce that they are an event partner with London Build 2016, which is being held at Olympia, London on the 26th-27th October 2016.

Solat Chaudhry, Chief Executive at the National Centre for Diversity will be joining two other expert panellists from Balfour Beatty and Thames Tideway Tunnel in a panel discussion titled ‘Building a Sustainable Bridge for the Skills Gap’.

The discussion will take place in the main conference room at 3:15pm on the 26th October 2016. As an expert in equality, diversity and inclusion, Mr Chaudhry will be focusing on how organisations can continue to unlock talent through employee diversity and equality programmes across the Construction industry.

London Build 2016, officially supported by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is the leading and largest annual construction and design event to focus exclusively on London and the South East.

The National Centre for Diversity will also have an exhibition stand located in the Skills Hub section throughout the event. The National Centre for Diversity has worked with several large and small Construction and Engineering organisations, including NG Bailey, Interserve, Vinci Construction UK, Cruden Group and Carillion PLC.

Equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) are high priority topics within the Construction, Engineering and Housing industries, with government agencies such as Highways England and HS2 identifying a variety of requirements for organisations looking to submit bids for contracts; including the need for organisations to show evidence of not only having good EDI policies and practices, but they must also show a commitment to their continued improvement around EDI.

Mr Chaudhry comments that “the Construction sector is going through an exciting phase, where it sees EDI as core disciplines. We are happy to be helping to shape how the sector works in relation to EDI.”

Back in 2005, the National Centre for Diversity was a grass roots movement created through the sheer will and determination of the most committed, passionate and knowledgeable across sectors in the UK. Bringing their own personal experiences to the table they had one profound goal in mind – to bring knowledge and understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) to organisations in the UK.

Today, the National Centre for Diversity offers their own ‘Top Performers index’, training, e-learning courses and bespoke support to enhance understanding of EDI. They have grown and now work in partnership with over 600 organisations across the UK.

NCFD want to create a society where there is genuine equality of opportunity, and there is fairness for all.

The NCFD works with organisations of all sizes in the private, public and voluntary sectors; including Schools, Further Education institutions, Construction companies, Prisons, Housing Associations and NHS Trusts.

NCFD will continue to grow, and use the momentum they have built over the last 10 years; to drive forward Equality, Diversity and Inclusion to ensure fairness for all.
