Persimmon Homes have revealed their latest proposals for the Kodak redevelopment site in Harrow.
A year ago Harrow Council granted Persimmon permission for a residential development on the western site of the Kodak factory. The factory has been operating there for more than 120 years. It was recently announced that by the end of this year all the manufacturing operations would stop and the facility would be closed.
The developers will start working on the Zoom leisure complex site and Kodak’s old sports ground with plans to release the first phase later this year.
Around 500 new homes are planned including affordable homes, a Green Link to connect Harrow, Wealdstone and the wider area, a mix of children’s play and recreation areas and landscaped public open space.
The planners hope that Persimmon’s Harrow View West development will kickstart a much grander scheme supported and promoted by the Greater London Authority – an ambitious project to create a big residential area uniting Harrow and Wealdstone – which will be called ‘Heart of Harrow’.
